You have put up a rich looking website. It is pleasing to the eye. The colors are vibrant. You have spent a lot of time and effort to make your design sing.

All of the right elements appear to be in place. You have learned how to get good placement in the search engines using smart keywords.

You have targeted traffic, high quality inbound links. Your "page rank" is within the top ten search results, a few are even in the top three.

Yet at the end of the month your online sales are less than one percent of your target projections...what to do?

You view your competitors website, and it obvious that their products/services are not any better quality than yours.

Nor are their prices less expensive. This can be frustrating as you brainstorm what am I doing wrong? Relax, take a deep breath, focus.

Can you spot the difference? Why are they selling thousands of dollars per year, while you are not even a blip on their competitive radar? What is the difference between their site and yours?

Here is a major hint -- value, that is "perceived value" is IN the eye of the beholder! You know your product is easily of equal quality.

Yet they are leaving you in the dust. This is where you have to admit to yourself...It must be in the way they are presenting their products or services.

Revelation HOW someone perceives the value of your product or service, is KEY. You were raised with the business adage " the customer should come first."

The prospects that visit your site are LOOKING for more than just a hard product or service. They are looking for instant benefits "helps" that are apparent to what they feel like they need.

Whether it be information, or confirmation, there is an unspoken desire that EVERY prospect has. Everyone has a desire to be treated with dignity and respect, even if they say otherwise, their inner being wishes to be perceived as having value.

I am not talking about ego, vanity, or conceit. People like to feel as though they have a sense of self-worth, and are needed by others.

When you show (not tell) people that their interest is your first concern...The value the customer perceives greatly increases;they see you as being worthy of their time."

Why is this? It is simply because people like to be treated as though they are worth more than just an object.

Is it true that most have this inner desire, to be approved of? You bet your bank account they do. It is woven into their fiber of being.

How do you tap into this perceived value, that people have of themselves? You do so by proving to them, that YOU think they have worth that goes beyond "dollars and cents."

Give them what they are looking for by, providing helpful information, they can reach out and put to instant use. How do you convey such a message?

It is ALL in your market PRESENTATION. When you show viewers that your first objective is to be of a service to them, the value in which they perceive you to have - goes way up: BANG.

Something triggers in their emotional makeup, that compels them to want to help you back. This is a proven technique that every marketer should use, because the ones that use this are rewarded with GROWING sales, that continue to prosper, even in economic recession.

Past experiences continually help to shape people's
concepts concerning value. So to gain the persons trust and raise their "perceived value," they need to be shown that YOU DO have their best interest at heart.

Good copywriters understand this emotional need, and use it to write their own check, as well as make the person who uses their services many times over whatever fee they charge to write the copy.

99.9 percent of websites that sell products or services make the mistake of thinking that they can write their own copy. They do not realize that they are very likely HURTING their own "perceived value" and are losing hundreds and thousands of dollars, in lost sales!

You can leapfrog your competition by using these proven techniques that all professional Web copy experts use. From the first word to the last word in your websites content, be it landing pages, homepages, emails, squeeze pages, the copy counts first.
